Day 1: Airport Transfer – Kigali- Ruhengeri
On arrival at the airport, you will be met by your driver-guide on the flight, who will drive you to Ruhengeri and overnight at Kinigi Guest House. Dinner and overnight. Parc de Volcanoes National Park the home of Mountain Gorillas. The drive is short but enjoyable with a lunch stop on the way.
The Park offers a dramatic steeply forested landscape crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. Here are families of gorillas that have been habituated for tourism and each is visited by 8 people per day. Although trekking may be strenuous the viewing of the gorillas in their natural habitat is an experience long to be savored. Apart from the gorillas, there are a variety of primates to be seen. The arrival at Ruhengeri will be in the evening. You will then settle at Kinigi guest house located near the park headquarters where tracking starts. Dinner and overnight as you prepare for tomorrow’s event!

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking
The morning after breakfast with packed lunch, you will be driven to the park offices for briefing. You will be allocated family to track. You will then be off from the park offices to begin your adventure. A briefing from your local guide and then it’s off! The time is taken and the terrain varies (2- 8 hours) this depends on the movement of these gentle giants. The thrill of meeting face to face takes away the pain of sometimes long and arduous trek. Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngster’s frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful manner. You will need to carry long pants like jean type, sturdy shoes to help you hiking steep and slippery slopes, long-sleeved shirts and blouses to protect your bodies from thorns and itching plants. You may not rule out raining on you and at least a raincoat is needed to protect your bodies and any equipment carried along with like cameras. Also, carry insect repellants and sun cream. Dinner and overnight at Kinigi Guest House.

Day 3: Ruhengeri
After breakfast visits the Karisoke Gorilla Research Centre which Dian Fossey set up – the author of “Gorillas in the Mist” documentary – the famous iron lady, the famous primatologist, who fought to make sure that the surviving gorillas could still survive by protecting their habitats. Return to your hotel. Then after lunch will be driven to Kigali. Spend the night at Okapi Hotel Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Kigali
After breakfast will be driven to Kigali City the main administrative and economic center of Rwanda. With an evergreen feel of fresh air, it is the cleanest face is her fortune; it is this dramatic beauty from which its name is derived. There are, however, other factors; Kigali is a city that delights the mind as well as the eye of any visitor. It is the city where the past lives comfortably with the present. You will have the opportunity to see the following: Visit an artisan shopping center for local arts and crafts shopping. Visit the Kigali Museum and learn the history of Kigali’s and Rwanda’s pre-colonial and colonial period as well as the colonial masters in Rwanda. Visit the city and see first hand the post-genocide development and expansion of Kigali. Visit the 1994 Kigali Genocide Memorial site. Will be dropped at your Hotel.
