Uganda Sports .
The Sports lie under the Ministry of Education and sports under the leadership of ministers Maj. Jessica Alupo(Cabinet) and Charles Bakabulindi(State).
Below the ministry is the National council for Sports.
Uganda Sports is also another tourist attraction in addition to the cultural activities and National parks(Contact your tour operator or our travel and tourism page for more information about tourism. The biggest sports stadium is Nelson Mandela Stadium,Namboole,Kampala. Wrestling is not so popular a game in Uganda. Ugandans Participate in Sports Like :-
Football: It is one of the the main Sports of Uganda. The National soccer team is called the Uganda Cranes.The Soccer governing body is the Federation of Uganda Football Association(FUFA) under the leadership of Roger Mulindwa.The role of managing the league is assumed by Uganda Super League Limited(USL),under the leadership of Edgar Watson(Chief Executive Officer).
Cricket: Cricket is no less popular in Uganda. Female Cricket is quite famous here. Cricket is played throughout the year.
Cricket in Uganda is governed by the Uganda Cricket Association.
Athletics: Athletics is one of the most favorite sport among Ugandans. Sports persons have taken part in Olympics and won medals.
John Akii-Bua earned the country its first gold medal in 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich in this sports discipline.Other Sports heroes in the same field include Dorcus Inzikuru,Moses Kipsiro,Kiprop.All these have won gold,silver and bronze medals in different world sporting events.
Tennis: Tennis is a popular game of this country. There are a number of organizations which arrange for matches.
Rugby: The rugby team of Uganda is very powerful. It is the second game to football in terms of being loved by Ugandans.It is under the Uganda Rugby union.
Swimming: The local people as well as tourists can enjoy swimming in the clear water. Other than the swimming club most of the hotels have got the facility of swimming.
Golf: There are a number of hotels adjacent to the golf fields Forexample Golf Course Hotel. People who come here for business purpose also like to spend some time playing Golf.
Fishing: Fishing can be enjoyed in the Islands. You can take a boat for boating as well. This will be an unique experience for you.
Sailing: Many sailing clubs are there. They will provide you with just what you want.
Boxing/Kick Boxing: Boxing is one of the most loved games in Uganda. Some of the Boxers have also taken part in Commonwealth games.

Basketball. Basket ball is under the governance of Federation of Uganda Basket ball Association(FUBA). There is a league which is organized and all the games are always played at YMCA in Wandegeya but soon will be shifted to the Lugogo indoor stadium which near to completion.
